  • UFO News Report

    This term, the pupils have been honing their journalistic skills learning how to write newspaper reports. This included creating engaging headlines, captions and the use of direct speech.

    Drawing inspiration from Paul Brown’s “The Hackney Martian”, the pupils applied their newfound journalistic talents to produce a live news report centred around a UFO encounter. Working as a team the pupils wrote a script, created props, directed, starred and recorded their very own live news report.

  • Free Fruit Tuck Shop Now Available for All Pupils!

    We're thrilled to announce a fantastic addition to our school – a free fruit tuck shop that is now open to all pupils! This initiative aims to ensure that every student has easy access to a healthy and nutritious diet while offering valuable lessons in health and nutrition.


    Beyond enjoying a delicious selection of fruits, students have the opportunity to develop practical life skills by actively participating in cutting and preparing the fruits.


    The response to our free fruit tuck shop has been overwhelmingly positive, with students eagerly embracing the chance to both prepare and enjoy a variety of fruits. We're excited about the positive impact this initiative is having on our school community and look forward to fostering a culture of health and well-being amongst our pupils!.

  • Camp Fire Cooking

    In an exciting term filled with hands-on learning, our pupils have been immersing themselves in the art of preparing and building campfires. From mastering the skills of chopping wood to kindling fires, they've not only learnt the essentials of campfire construction but have also gained valuable experience in creating a log store to keep our wood dry for the winter months.

    The joy of this hands-on experience has captivated our pupils, who have embraced the practical side of building and safely maintaining a campfire. They've recently taken their newfound expertise a step further by crafting campfire bread. Following a carefully curated recipe, the students prepared the dough and cooked it over an open fire of their own making.

    The result? Delicious campfire bread that not only satisfied their taste buds but also underscored the fun and fulfilment derived from this unique learning experience. Stay tuned for more exciting adventures as our students continue to explore and master practical skills that extend beyond the classroom.

    In the spirit of the spooky season, we embarked on a fantastic day of pumpkin picking to celebrate the approaching Halloween festivities. Our pupils eagerly combed through the fields in search of the perfect pumpkins, even if it meant getting a bit muddy in the process. The highlight of our Halloween celebration was a lively party where everyone dressed up in amazing costumes, accompanied by spooky music and a delightful array of sweet treats.   • Black Bart the Welsh Pirate

    In this term's curriculum, Year 9 delved into the life of the infamous Welsh pirate Black Bart. As part of this fascinating topic, the students designed a treasure hunt for their peers, incorporating problem-solving clues that involved acrostic poems, riddles, and artwork. Together, they explored the school, decoding clues and hunting for the hidden treasure, creating an unforgettable “argh - venture”
