Class 3 Trip to Parc Slip

Our Wonderful Trip to Parc Slip

Last week, our pupils enjoyed a fantastic educational visit to Parc Slip Nature Reserve, and what a brilliant day it turned out to be! The trip provided the perfect blend of adventure, learning, and hands-on experience with the natural world.

As we arrived at Parc Slip, the pupils set off on a peaceful walk along the reserve’s pathways, taking in the beautiful Welsh scenery. The fresh air and open spaces created a calm and engaging atmosphere, perfect for exploring nature up close. Along the way, pupils discussed the different habitats around them and shared what they hoped to spot during the day.

One of the highlights of the trip was spending time inside the bird-watching hides. Pupils sat quietly and patiently, peering through the viewing windows to observe the wide variety of Welsh bird species that call Parc Slip home. Excitement filled the hides as pupils spotted birds such as robins, blackbirds, mallards and even a few more unusual species. Their enthusiasm and curiosity were wonderful to see.

After bird watching, pupils took out their art books and began sketching the birds they had seen. They focused on shapes, feathers, colours and unique features, creating thoughtful and detailed drawings. This activity not only encouraged artistic expression but also deepened their understanding of the wildlife they had observed.

Overall, the visit to Parc Slip was a truly memorable experience. Pupils had a lovely time exploring, observing and sketching, while also learning about new species and the importance of protecting local wildlife. We are incredibly proud of their enthusiasm, behaviour and engagement throughout the day.

We look forward to many more outdoor learning adventures in the future!
