Spooky Story Competition

This month, Class 5 have been diving headfirst into the world of ghosts, ghouls, and Welsh legends as they entered the Creative Writing Competition. The challenge? To write a spooky short story set in a haunted Welsh location!
To kick things off, learners brainstormed ideas together, everything from eerie forests on misty mountains to mysterious abandoned farmhouses. Once their imaginations were flowing, they used Microsoft Whiteboard to carefully plan the structure of their stories mapping out their main characters, settings, and plot twists.
Next, they turned to Adobe Express to bring their main characters to life. Using descriptive adjectives from their writing, pupils generated fantastic images of their spooky protagonists , everything from ghostly wanderers to mischievous spirits!

With plans and visuals in hand, the class began drafting their stories, weaving in suspense, dialogue, and plenty of Welsh touches, from local names to eerie traditions. After editing and refining their work, each pupil proudly produced a final copy of their story, complete with beautiful illustrations to match their chilling tales.
