We’ve been fortunate to explore beautiful natural areas right in our local community, making lasting memories along the way. Our adventures have included learning how to safely make and light fires, a skill that adds a sense of accomplishment and connection to nature. Toasting marshmallows over the fire became a favorite treat, bringing simple joy to our outings. We’ve enjoyed exploring woodland trails, searching for signs of wildlife, and discovering wild plants and fascinating fungi like colorful toadstools, which add a magical touch to the forest floor. Each walk offers new surprises—from spotting birds, insects, and other creatures to finding interesting leaves and flowers. These experiences help us slow down, appreciate the living world around us, and deepen our respect for nature. They remind us that adventure and learning are always close to home.
