Aspire learners head outdoors for a day of teamwork at the Down to Earth Project

Aspire learners swapped the classroom for the fresh air this week with a visit to the Down to Earth Project.
The day opened with parachute games. Learners worked together to lift, lower and ripple the parachute. Every learner had a role, and the game only worked when everyone joined in.
Then the tools came out. With close support from staff, learners whittled sticks, shaping and smoothing the wood one stroke at a time. The task called for focus, patience and steady hands.
The day finished with hide and seek. Learners took turns to hide and to search, listened for clues and cheered each other on across the open ground.
Every activity relied on teamwork. Learners shared equipment, waited for their turn and encouraged one another from start to finish.
A brilliant day out. Head over to the Aspire Gallery in the class pages section of the website to see photographs of the day.
Diolch yn fawr to the team at the Down to Earth Project for such a warm welcome. Diolch also to the Aspire staff for making the day happen.
Da iawn, Aspire!
