Theodore Road learners step into the ring at Bulldogs Boxing

Gloves, pads and teamwork: our learners trained with the coaches at Bulldogs Boxing Community Activities.

Gloves on. Pads up. Learners from our Theodore Road provision spent time training at Bulldogs Boxing Community Activities in Port Talbot.

Bulldogs is a community charity. The team works with young people aged 7 to 18 to build self-esteem, support healthy life choices, develop positive relationships and give them a sense of belonging.

The coaches led our learners through cardiovascular training and boxing conditioning. Learners worked on stamina, coordination and core strength and then stepped up to spar with a coach, under close supervision.

The visit links to the Health and Well-being Area of Learning and Experience in the Curriculum for Wales. Learners practised listening to instructions, taking turns and managing their energy in a new setting. Bulldogs works with local schools on life skills, fitness, communication, team building and motivation.

Diolch yn fawr to the coaches at Bulldogs for a warm welcome and a brilliant session.
