Digital Leaders want more code

Learners met to share what they love about learning with technology and what they want next.

Our Digital Leaders got together at Bryncoch on Thursday 22 October with Mr Wilkins. They kicked off by talking about what they love most about learning with technology.

Using digital devices in lessons came up straight away, along with learning to code and making their own PowerPoint presentations, which turned out to be a firm favourite around the table. When the conversation moved to what they would like next, the answer was clear: more coding, please, and more educational apps to help them learn in class.

The group also came up with two ideas for the future. They would love learners to have access to printing, with a teacher’s permission and a code to keep things secure, and they would like to see an after-school coding club one day. Before they finished, the committee made one firm decision. Every member will help build a Digital Leaders display board to show the rest of the school what they can do and to introduce the learners behind the committee.

The board is due in the second half of the autumn term, so keep your eyes peeled for it after half term.
