Diwrnod Shwmae Su'mae: Criw Cymraeg leads the way

Wear red, white and green on Thursday 15 October for a full day of Welsh across all three sites

Shwmae! Our Criw Cymraeg met on Wednesday 7 October to plan Diwrnod Shwmae Su'mae, which takes place on Thursday 15 October.

They reported that learners across Bryncoch, Theodore Road and Velindre are enjoying the Welsh word of the week. The group wants more Welsh on classroom walls, so they asked for Welsh displays in every class.

Each class will also compete for 'Tocyn Clecs'. The class with the most tickets at the end of term wins a prize.

On Diwrnod Shwmae Su'mae, everyone can wear red, white and green to school. Every class has a timetabled slot for a Welsh challenge. Classes will learn a Welsh song or watch a Welsh TV show and meet Mr Urdd. Staff will sell Welsh cakes, with the money going towards a Welsh activity for learners.

Class representatives will share the plans with their classes by Friday 9 October. Families will receive a Class Dojo message with all the details.

Da iawn, Criw Cymraeg.

Every idea for the day came from our learners.
