Today, Eco Warriors from Bryncoch headed to Aberavon Beach for the NPT Mind Beach Clean. Neath Port Talbot Mind hosted the event as part of the Great British Beach Clean, a UK-wide litter pick run by the Marine Conservation Society.

Volunteers from across the community took part. The event had two aims: clear litter from the coastline and support mental wellbeing through time outdoors.

Our Eco Warriors worked alongside other volunteers. They picked up plastic bottles, crisp packets and fishing line from the sand. Learners also recorded what they found, adding to the Marine Conservation Society's national litter data.

Fresh air helps.

Time on the beach gave learners space to move, talk and work as a team. Each full bag showed the difference a small group makes to a local beach.

The Eco Warriors now plan to share what they found with the rest of the school.
