Siarter Iaith

Mae’r Siarter Iaith yma…

At our school, we are proud to promote the Welsh language and its place at the heart of everyday life. Over the coming year, we will be undertaking the Siarter Iaith Bronze Award, working together as a whole school community to increase the use of Welsh both inside and outside the classroom.

The Siarter Iaith provides a national framework that supports schools in developing a positive Welsh language ethos and encourages children and young people to use Welsh naturally and confidently in all aspects of their lives.

Our aim as a school is for our children and young people to develop a strong connection with the Welsh language, culture, and community.

Through our work towards the Bronze Award, we hope that all our children and young people will:

  • Be aware of the local, regional, community, and linguistic context of Wales
  • Contribute creatively to the Welsh language ethos of the school
  • Grow in confidence to choose to use Welsh in their daily lives
  • Improve their language skills and fluency through the Curriculum for Wales, preparing them to live and work in Wales and beyond

We look forward to sharing our Siarter Iaith journey with pupils, families, and the wider community as we celebrate and strengthen the Welsh language together.
