Aspire get growing at the allotment

Aspire learners spent a busy day at the allotment. They planted new carrots and onions, checked on the carrots already in the ground, then harvested the ready crop and sorted the onions. Learners prepared the soil for new flowers, trimmed and pulled out weeds and cleared away the cuttings and branches. Spades out, the group worked together to dig a hole for the new pond. They picked flowers from the garden and collected apples from the trees before stopping to relax and enjoy the outdoors. The visit gave learners hands-on experience of where food comes from, with teamwork, communication and physical skills practised in a real setting. Da iawn, Aspire!
